Description: Rare and exceptional 1927 World Series Champion New York Yankees team signed baseball. Red and blue stitched Reach B.Johnson OAL baseball has been signed by (21) including Ruth, Gehrig, Huggins, Combs, Shawkey, Grabowski, Miller (bullpen coach), Paschal, O'Leary, Moore, Lazzeri, Shocker, Morehart, Bengough, Giard, Koenig, Durst, Ruether, Thomas, and Wera. Fountain pen signatures rate 6/7 to 9 out of 10, averaging 7/8. Ball displays moderate toning, likely the result of a thin coat of shellac, and has several scattered areas of surface loss (minute) which primarily only have an effect on signatures on one panel. Retains bold manufacturer's stampings (Johnson facsimile signature has all but faded) with small period "NY Aug-11-27" notation written over the Reach shield. For the sake of accuracy, we mention that there is an additional small notation near League stampings and what looks to be an additional very faded signature. Includes portion of the original box (approximately 70% intact - now covered in tape) and the lidded wooden storage box in which this and the 1927 Senators ball (offered elsewhere within this sale) were stored. During the course of our twenty year company history we have handled less then five 1927 Yankees team signed baseball of quality with this particular example easily ranking near the top of that exclusive list.
