Description: Choice early career Babe Ruth single signed baseball c.1920s. Red and blue stitched Reach B.Johnson Official American League baseball has been signed across the sweetspot, "Babe Ruth." Vintage fountain pen signature rates 7 to 7/8 out of 10 with just a touch of loss to last name. Ruth+s use of quotes and diminutive signature style along with pre-1925 manufacture of ball help in placing this as having been signed during the earlier span of his days with the New York Yankees. Ball displays light to moderate even toning with a touch of minor scattered wear; more accentuated to the left of signature with three scuffs that break leather surface. Stampings remain very well defined. Very fine early example being one of the strongest we have offered of its dating period.
