Description: Incredible Billy Southworth c.1929 single singed baseball with numerous career related notations. Red and black stitched Spalding baseball (bearing both Official National League and Official International League stampings) has been signed on the side panel in period fountain pen, "Compliments and Best Wishes to my Good Friend Dr. Chas Jorgenson from Billy Southworth, Mgr. St Louis Cardinals 1929." In addition, Southworth has inscribed the remaining panels with "New York Giants National League Champs 1924", "St. Louis Cardinals Worlds Champions 1926", and "Rochester Red Wings International League Champions 1928" thus noting all Championship teams of which he was a member as a player. Signature/handwriting rates 7/8 to 8 out of 10. Ball displays even toning with a touch of scattered wear. Southworth was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008 and a scant few single signed baseballs have come to market since. Includes auction LOA from JSA: Ball EX, Sig.
