Description: Rare Louisville Parkway Field stadium sign c.1940-50s. Enormous painted wooden sign measures 42 1/2" tall by 10’ long having once been displayed at Louisville’s Parkway Field which served as the longtime home for the Louisville Colonels baseball team. The field played host to countless Minor League and barnstorming games with players such as Ted Williams, Honus Wagner, and Pee Wee Reese having passed through its gates. The sign retains its original patina with appropriate age wear having been displayed in an outdoor venue. Several areas of paint chipping with some expected soiling to a few sections.
