Description: President Dwight D. Eisenhower single signed baseball c.1959 with related period photographs. Reach William Harridge Official American League baseball has been signed on the side panel, "Dwight D. Eisenhower" in black ink. Signature rates 8/9 out of 10 remaining very well preserved, the result of a small amount of shellac applied in the period. Ball displays mild toning with light scattered wear and retains well defined stampings. Small "5/29/59" ink notation appears on the side panel. Eisenhower was an ardent baseball fan and attended games played in Washington throughout his years in office. In total he is known to have been at (13) games with this being his only Griffith Stadium appearance during the 1959 season. Includes vintage 11"x14" sepia toned photograph as taken that day; framed for display with inset metal placard reading "Harmon Meets Ike, June 1959" and 11.5"x10" black and white photo with Killebrew and Eisenhower visible stamped "Life Magazine" on back (tear at lower edge). Includes auction LOA from JSA and letter of provenance from Nita Killebrew: Ball EX, Sig. NM
