Description: Scarce 1915 Joe Tinker signed "Federal League Oil Company" stock certificate. Ornate stock certificate representing six shares in the "Federal League Oil Company, Inc" which was founded in 1915. One of the great baseball stars of the era, Tinker famously made the jump from Major to Federal League in 1913 and in 1915 lead the Chicago Whales to a Championship. Trading on both his notoriety and the anticipated success of the Federal League - the Leagues' moniker was attached to this venture. Both the League and Oil Company would be short lived with this being the only signed stock certificate we have encountered. Signed beautifully, "Joseph B. Tinker" on the line designated for the President in period fountain pen rating 8/9 out of 10. Measures 9.25"x12.25" and is well preserved with typical fold lines and just a hint of light even toning.
