Description: 1979 Jim Palmer Rawlings Gold Glove Award. Significant and highly desirable award trophy features applied brass placard on base which reads "1979 Rawlings Gold Glove Award, Presented to Jim Palmer, Honoring His Selection to The Sporting News American League All Star Fielding Team." Additional placard above has printed image of Palmer. A pair of gold colored baseballs (both having "Rawlings" logo printed on) sit in supports at either side of a raised similarly colored full sized glove at center. Glove has imprinted "Major League All-Star Field Team" and "Rawlings" markings lettered on. A pair of red enameled "Rawlings" logo plates decorate the front of the base. The offered award is the last of (4) Jim Palmer earned in consecutive seasons stretching from 1976 to 1979.
