Description: Rogers Hornsby professional model team index bat c.1932. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with "Rogers Hornsby" signature burned into barrel end measures 35" long and weighs 35oz. Heavy usage wear evident throughout and a substantial handle crack has been repaired. The knob has a pair of small chips and there are several dents at points throughout. By 1932 Hornsby was winding down one of the great careers of the first half of the 20th Century, sharing Managerial duties of the Chicago Cubs with Charlie Grimm. It is not surprising that the team would have ordered bats made to his specifications.
