Description: Rare 1959 Roy Sievers All-Star Game 10K gold presentation ring. Throughout the 1950s Major League baseball broke with the long standing tradition of awarding jewelry to players selected to All-Star Teams in favor of more practical pieces like platters and bowls. In honor of his selection to the AL squad in 1959, a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, (game played at Forbes Field) commissioned and presented to Roy Sievers this ring which represents the only example which we have seen offered. Top face features a black enameled baseball field with large central diamond representing the pitchers mound and (4) slightly smaller stones as bases. Lettered around the edge, "American League - All-Star Game." Also on top face is "57" representing the number of years which had passed since the American League was founded. Left shank has year "1959" at the top in relief with crossed bat and ball logo on right. Stamped "10K" on interior band which also has "'56-'57" engraved notation (Sievers two previous All-Star appearances). Ring is size 11 and exhibits light evident wear with small chip to black enamel.
