Description: 2004 Jimmy Anderson Boston Red Sox World Series ring. Desirable ring is one of only a handful which have been offered publicly and only the second to be sold at auction which can be traced back to a roster player. Top face is lettered "World Champions" around the edge surrounded by approximately (56) small round diamonds. Red Sox style "B" logo at center comprised of (10) custom fitted ruby stones with several small diamonds forming the open areas. The background incorporates (13) (visible) diamonds in the shape of a baseball field with blue sapphire accented edges. Left shank has "Greatest Comeback in History 2004" in relief above enameled Sox logo and "8 Straight" banner. Right has "Anderson" player name above a detailed rendering of Fenway Park with the World Series trophy. Below is player number "56" and "4-0 Sweep" banner. Engraved "86 Years 10-27-04" on interior band along with "Jostens 18K." Includes faxed copy of the original team memorandum circulated at the time the rings were given out and was originally obtained through purchase associated with a charitable organization.
