Lot Number: 221

Description: 1914 World Series program (at Philadelphia). In one of the greatest World Series upsets of all-time the Boston "Miracle Braves" swept the Philadelphia Athletics in (4) games to take home the 1914 Championship. It was a less than fitting end to the A's dominance of baseball during the previous (5) seasons, but made heroes out of the less than likely squad from Boston. Original program issued for game played at Shibe Park, neatly scored in pencil for Game (1) which was played October 9. Light cover wear is confined to edges and corners with a very few scattered minute tears/chips. Central graphic remains unaffected. Bound edge is near fully intact with 1" split at bottom. Interior is uniformly clean. Choice example of this very scarce program: strong EX-EX/MT
