Lot Number: 200

Description: High grade 1933 All-Star Game program. Original program issued for the first All-Star Game which was played in Comiskey Park. Noted period sportswriter Arch Ward had conceived of the game to coincide with the World's Fair taking place in Chicago. Originally intended to be a one year event, the game proved so popular that it has become an American Pastime. Fittingly it was Babe Ruth who emerged the hero, hitting the first homerun in All-Star Game history to lead the American League to a 4-2 win. Very well preserved example with a touch of wear at corners and pencil notations within the scoring line of the pre-printed scorecard. One of, if not the highest grade which we have encountered: EX/MT

Estimated Price Range: ($1,000-$2,000)
