Description: 1910 Eddie Collins letter to Ty Cobb with significant content. July 13, 1910 Type written letter reads in part, "The contract, which you gave me yesterday, I have examined carefully and submitted to Manager Mack for his approval. He seemed much impressed with the idea of a post-season series of games between two teams composed of the pick of the American and National leagues. He entered no objection whatsoever about any of his players participating in such a series and naturally wished for the success of our league...I thank you personally for the contract and intend to sign..." Collins discusses changes to the lineups which Mack has suggested. Signed at the close, "Edward T. Collins." Light consistent age toning, slightly more prevalent at edges, with wrinkling and edge/corner wear. Typical mailing folds with several small edge tears and pair of pinholes at top. Signature rates 8 out of 10. An historic and important letter from one future Hall of Famer to another regarding what proved to be a pivotal off season enterprise.
