Description: 1899 M101-1 John "Honus" Wagner Sporting News Supplement. Scarce and significant premium issued on August 19, 1899 is widely regarded as Wagner's rookie "card" issue made even more desirable by its inclusion in one of the most visually striking of all 19th Century baseball sets. Displays EX/MT with very minimal evident wear to front. When held to the light, the right hand edge of the back exhibits scattered areas of surface loss from scrapbook removal which do not detract from the overall display qualities and are not visible from the front. Small pinhole along left edge with a pair of very minute tears mentioned for the sake of accuracy with minor reinforcement to one tear. Extremely subtle toning is visible at edges. Includes original leather bound presentation album in which the collection was housed since their original issue in 1899: Technical VG (due to surface loss on reverse) with EX/MT appearance.
