Description: Dick Groat autographed c.1960s Pittsburgh Pirates batting helmet. Flapless helmet with black exterior with Pirates style "P" logo on front. Signed on the visor in gold paint pen, "Dick Groat, 1960 - MVP, 1960 Batting Champ" rating 8/9 out of 10. Interior retains majority of the leather sweatband and upper padding with triangular section at back missing. "Pro-Celd" label on inside with size "7 1/8" handwritten below. Appears as though flap may have been removed after production and that the black paint has been touched up in areas (likely done in the period). Vintage marked notation on underside of brim appears to read "Clemens(?) 37." Evident usage wear throughout.
