Description: Significant Cal Ripken Jr. autographed first pitch baseball from September 5, 1995 record tying game. Historically significant baseball as thrown by Earl Weaver for the first pitch on the night that Ripken played in his 2,130th consecutive game, tying Lou Gehrig's record. Signed on the sweetspot, "Cal Ripken Jr" in blue ink rating 7 to 8 out of 10. "9-5-95" Date notation below. Ball exhibits usage wear and has applied coating of "Blackburne mud." Included is a newsprint image of Ripken signing the ball for Weaver and the custom shadowbox (ball has been removed) in which it was displayed. Back half of ball has some tackiness to the surface from adhesive residue resulting from the method of mounting with the frame. Includes LOA from JSA (autograph) and letter of provenance from Earl Weaver: EX, Signature: NM
