Classically styled award plaque measures approximately 11"x13.5" with affixed metal placard inscribed, "The Bill Slocum Memorial Award, To Earl Weaver for his high contribution to baseball over a long period, Presented by the New York Chapter Baseball Writers Association of America, 1982." Dieges & Clust manufacturer's markings on back. The Slocum award has been presented annually since 1922 and past recipients have included such notables as Babe Ruth. Very light scattered wear.
