Description: September 15, 1953 Robin Roberts season win #22 game-used baseballs (commemorating win and homerun). Pair of balls used at Wrigley Field vs. the Chicago Cubs. Colorful hand painted and lettered baseball has game information throughout incl. score, win number, rendering of baseball diamond (stats lettered within), and poem about his performance during the game. The second is decorated in similar fashion but commemorates Roberts hitting the second homerun of his career (extremely faded signature on side panel rating 0/1 out of 10). Evident usage wear, age toning, even coat of shellac, and minor scuffing/crazing throughout. Small area of surface loss on poem panel.
