Lot Number: 91

Description: December 31, 1967 NFL "Ice Bowl" Championship game autographed program. Rare and desirable program issued for legendary Cowboys vs. Packers game at Lambeau Field. Game time temperatures were 13 degrees below zero with a wind chill factor hovering between -40 and -50 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperatures were so horrid that the use of whistles was suspended after becoming frozen to the referee's lips following the initial kickoff. The game itself was nearly as epic as the weather conditions, with the Packers prevailing for the second year in a row on a dramatic unannounced quarterback sneak for a touchdown by Bart Starr. The program exhibits moderate cover and bound edge wear with light age toning throughout. Center page loose but affixed. Signed on the cover, in the period, by (25) members of the Champion Packers including Nitschke, Starr, Adderley, Gregg, Pitts, Wood, and others. Ink signatures rate 8 to 9 out of 10. Accompanied by small group of related material including snapshot photograph of field with stands covered in ice and snow. The only period signed program we are aware of from this immensely popular Championship game. Includes LOA from JSA: Program EX-EX/MT, Sigs. EX/MT
