Description: 1927 Lefty O'Doul single signed baseball. Wilson Pacific Coast League red and black stitched baseball (unknown commissioner on side panel) has been signed, "To Sherbett, From Frank Lefty O'Doul, Seals 1927." Blue ink signature and inscription rate 7/8 out of 10. Ball exhibits even toning/soiling with several scattered blemishes. In addition to being the first O'Doul single that we have brought to auction, the offered is likely the earliest dated example in the hobby. O'Doul remains an important figure in the history of both the Major and Pacific Coast Leagues and is credited with introducing baseball to Japan on a large scale. It would not be surprising to see him inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Veteran's Committee at some point in the future. Includes LOA from JSA: Ball VG/EX-EX, Sig.
