Description: Rare 1976 Lyman Bostock Jr. professional model baseball bat. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 34 1/2" long and weighs 31.8oz. Bat shows excellent use including ball marks, stitching impressions, rack marks, and light surface crack/fissure on the barrel end under the facsimile signature stamping. Desirable 1976 Centennial logo stamping is found on the barrel along with model number C243. Vintage "10" written in black over green marker on knob end. Bostock Jr. was the son of Negro League star Lyman Bostock Sr. Junior was an exceptional baseball talent who ranked among the AL leaders in batting during his brief three year playing career from 1975-1977. In a tragic accident, Bostock Jr. was murdered, mistakenly, during a marital dispute between an old pupil of his and her husband. One of the rarest of all 1970s era game bats to acquire with note to its Centennial stampings. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions and letter of provenance from former Dodgers batboy: VG-EX
