Description: Rare Don Drysdale Los Angeles Dodgers professional model batting helmet c.1960s. Notably scarce vintage Dodgers batting helmet as worn by HOF pitcher Don Drysdale. Dodger blue helmet retains "LA" decal on front with "53" numerals on bill and back of head. Interior retains its original American Baseball Cap labeling along with padding having "53' written in period black marker. helmet itself remains in very fine original condition showing excellent usage wear throughout. While obviously regarded as one of the best pitchers of his era it should also be noted that Drysdale was a very fine batsman often serving as a pinch hitter and collecting 29 career home runs. Desirable and possibly unique surviving example from a legendary Dodgers icon. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions and letter of provenance from the family: EXEstimated Price Range: ($3,000-$4,000)
