Lot Number: 305

Description: Sept. 1, 1906 Boston Red Sox vs. Philadelphia Athletics program from the longest game played in Red Sox history. Original program as issued for the historic game played between the A's and Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston. The game lasted an epic 24 innings with the A's winning by a score of 4 to 1. Given the length of the game and use of the program, it remains notably intact with some vintage tape reinforcement to the spine. Interior is neatly and fully scored in ink inclusive of a handmade additional area of scoring inside the front cover. This was created by the attendee of the game to allow for innings that would not fit in the conventional scoring area. Additionally, the game is recognized as the second longest in American League history. Very scarce and interesting program the likes of which surely survive in extremely limited quantities: VG-EX
