Description: Rare Bennie Kauff autographed photograph. Black and white printed publication photo measuring 5"x7" pictures Kauff in New York Giants uniform c.1916. Signed in blue fountain pen, "Best Wishes to Michael Sams from Bennie Kauff". Kauff adds at the bottom, "Federal League Batting Leader .370-1914 .342-1915" in his hand. Signature and notations all rate 8/9 out of 10. Nicknamed, "Ty Cobb of the Feds", Kauff was the dominant offensive forces in the short lived two year Federal League from 1914-15. After a shaky acquittal of a car theft charge in 1921, Commissioner Kennesaw M. Landis banned Kauff from baseball for life citing his "incorrigible character". Notably rare signed photo.
