Description: 1935 Ted Lyons Chicago White Sox Most Valuable Player award trophy. Art nouveau style silverplated trophy consists of a baseball batter figural top standing on an oversized baseball shaped finial. Inscribed on the front, "Ted Lyons Winner of the Johnny O'Hara Booster's Trophy Contest as the Most Valuable White Sox Player Sept. 24, 1935". The trophy surface exhibits some areas of wear to the plating and the batter's bat is missing, 22" tall.
