Description:Unique Negro League advertising broadside original artwork c.1943. Large format 21"x27" original painting on fiberboard is the original artwork used to create an advertising broadside promoting a game between the World Champion Kansas City Monarchs (1942) and the Chicago American Giants. The display features a large illustrative depiction of Satchell Paige at the left side with his name printed above. The game was played at Sportsman's Park in St. Louis on July 4th. Signed by artist Spencer T. Banks at the bottom. Colors remain very strong and vibrant with some general age toning and light edge wear.
