Lot Number: 133

Description: Rare Jerry Casey EHL Philadelphia Ramblers hockey jersey c.1955. Red wool pullover jersey retains its original "Ramblers" team name across the front with #8 red on white circular patches on the sleeves. Large number "8" remains affixed to the back. Pearson mfg. tag is affixed inside the tail along with size 42 flag tag. The jersey was worn by Ramblers center Jerry Casey (#8) during the 1955 season. In September of 1956, Casey joined fellow Rambler teammate Rocky Ruckavina as a coach for the Univ. of Penn ice hockey team. As such, Casey had the Ramblers donate the 1955 jerseys to the Penn team for use in practice. The goalie for that team, Herb Tabak, received the offered jersey and it has remained in his possession until its current offering. The jersey shows evident use including surface wear, several period team repairs, and pilling while remaining in outstanding original condition. Highly sought after vintage hockey game jersey with impeccable provenance. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions, letter of provenance from the original recipient, and color copy of the 1955 Ramblers program picturing Casey wearing a similar (if not the actual) jersey: EX
