Description: 1888 St. Louis Browns Imperial Cabinet Photograph. Very rare large format mounted image of the American Association Champion Browns pictures the players in uniform wearing boldly striped jackets. Players include Charles Comiskey (center), Jim Devlin, Tommy McCarthy, Silver King, and Tip OÆNiell. Wonderfully composed image with players in front of large rock wall and two dogs in front. Photo itself measures 17"x21" matted and framed retaining fine contrast and clarity with some chipping to the top left corner which is not visible under matting. Some minor surface creasing is visible at the lower right corner of the image as well. The original mount is partially intact with chipping throughout which is commonly seen on images of this period given their size/handling concerns. Portions of the mount at the bottom margin display pre-printed titling including player names and "St. Louis Browns World Beaters" titling. Marked F.W. Guerin 1888 at bottom.
