The 1918 World Series saw the Boston Red Sox defeat the Chicago Cubs four games to two. The Series victory for the Red Sox was their fifth in five attempts, going back to 1903. 1918 would be the last Red Sox World Series Championship until 2004 with the 86-year drought being famously attributed to the "Curse of the Bambino". Game #1 at Fenway Park (Game 4 of the series) saw starting pitcher Babe Ruth earn his second win of the series, holding the Cubs scoreless until the eighth inning when his World Series record scoreless inning streak was halted at 29 2/3. Comiskey stub has name "Henry P. Edwards - Cleve. Pla.." written on bearer line: EX-MT and VG-EX respectively
