Description: 1956-57 Boston Celtics autograph book incl. Bill Russell rookie signature. Scarce early Celtics autograph book measures 5öx8ö. Interior pages feature individual caricature renderings autographed by all the Celtics players in the period including Auerbach, Russell (rookie year), Cousy, Heinsohn (rookie), Loscutoff, Sharman, Ramsey, Hemric, Nichols, Phillip and Risen. Additional signatures of former Celtics team owner Walter Brown and Hall of Fame announcer Johnny Most also appear on the inside cover. The latter portion of the book features additional autographed caricature pages representing other stars of the league such as Paul Arizin (taped cut), Bob Pettit (taped cut), Dolph Schayes, Carl Braun, Neil Johnston and Ken Sears. The gem here is the Russell page, as it is rare to find an autograph by him that can be definitively attributed to his rookie season. Book shows moderate staining and soiling throughout with some interior pages loosened from spine. Signatures average 9 out of 10. Includes LOA from JSA: VG/EX-EXEstimated Price Range: ($1,500-2,000)
