Description: Pair of 1952 Harlem Globetrotters world tour banners. During the 1950s, the Globetrotters established themselves as the world ambassadors of basketball, becoming a genuine global attraction. In 1952, the Globetrotters embarked on the team's first around-the-world tour, playing a 108-game schedule. Offered here is an original 23" long satin embroidered banner that welcomed the Globetrotters to Spain in 1952. Crafted in high quality white and gold satin with gold fringe, the triangular shaped banner hangs from a brass metal rod. Accompanying is a 24"x17" green felt banner that welcomed the Globetrotters to Japan in 1952. This banner features applied felt lettering and embroidered lettering inside a basketball motif that reads "Round The World 1952". Gold tassels hang from the bottom border.
