Lot Number: 97

Description: Roger Clemens 300th win/4000th strikeout auto. game used ball. On June 13, 2003, the Yankees Roger Clemens reached two significant career milestones en route to a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at Yankee Stadium. The victory for "The Rocket" made him only the 21st pitcher in baseball history to win 300 games. The night was also marked by the occasion of Clemens' 4,000th career strikeout, an accomplishment so extraordinary that it has only been matched by Nolan Ryan and Steve Carlton before him. Rarely, if ever, have two such important career milestones been achieved in the same contest. The offered Selig MLB ball was used during that historic game. The ball, which features the special New York Yankees "100 Anniversary" stamp on a side panel, has been inscribed, "Roger Clemens - 6/13/03 - 300 W's/4,000 K's" in blue ink across the sweet spot, rating 8-9 out of 10. The ball is moderately soiled, displaying appropriate game use. Includes LOAs from Hunt Auctions (ball) and JSA (auto.): EX-MT
