Description: Rare baseball coin operated slot machine c.1920s. One of the more desired slot machines of its type features a full polychrome enamelwork game scene placard affixed to the front with mechanical scoring dials for players, runs, outs, and innings. The machine is lever activated for five cents, and when pulled, spins a group of three wheels, each with baseball themed symbols such as catcher's mitt, batter, etc. The game remains in beautiful original condition including its rare original inset scoring key which pictures the various baseball symbols. Exterior oak casing features raised panel sides with original "Vending Machine Co" decals intact. Patent dates of 1922 and 1925 are found at the bottom of the cast metal facing. The machine remains fully functional with some typical light general handling and use wear to the exterior. Missing its original key to the back plate door. Highly desirable piece is the first example that we have handled in our nearly 20 year history of auctions: EX
