Description: Frank Torre Rawlings Gold Glove Award presented to him on his 50th Birthday. Frank Torre had a seven-year career in the major leagues, hitting .273 with a reputation as a top defensive first baseman. Among his post playing career occupations, Torre became the president of Rawlings sporting goods. On the occasion of his 50th birthday on Dec. 30, 1981, Rawlings presented him with this honorary Gold Glove Award. The 16"x18" wooden pedestal style trophy base features applied brass placards incl. titling that reads "Frank Torre 12-30-81 50 Golden Years". Three-pronged pedestals support two gold painted baseballs flanking the trademark Rawlings gold painted glove that resides as the centerpiece. Award remains fairly clean overall with only a few minor scratches. Includes letter of provenance from Frank Torre: EX-EX/MTEstimated Price Range: ($1,000-$1,500)
