Description: Ted Williams and Stan Musial auto. large format photograph inscribed by Williams to Musial. Superb 16"x20" sepia toned image captures two of the greatest players of their generation, whose Major League careers coincided for 17 seasons in the American and National Leagues respectively. The photograph is signed by the photographer Jack Zehel in the lower right corner with his date notation "1948", suggesting the image may have been captured during the 1948 All-Star game at St. Louis' Sportsman's Park. Musial has added his large signature across his image in thick blue marker. In the same blue marker, Williams has penned an extraordinary inscription to Musial himself that reads, "To my friend Stan, I told my son you were every bit as good as ever went to the plate. Best Wishes, Ted Williams". Signatures and inscription rate 8-9 out of 10. Hall of Famer to Hall of Famer inscribed pieces of this caliber are seldom seen.
