Description: Lou Gehrig auto. photograph multi-signed on reverse incl. Ruth and Lazzeri c.1935. 5"x7" black and white image captures The Iron Horse at Spring training. Gehrig has signed the photo across his body in blue fountain pen. Signature rates 7-8 out of 10. The back of the photo features (19) signatures of mostly Braves and Yankees players with a few Cardinals. The combination of signatures suggests it was signed in 1935, most likely at one or more spring training events. Interestingly, Babe Ruth, one year removed from his tenure as a New York Yankee, appears to have signed this photo as a member of the Boston Braves. Ruth's signature appears at the top center with a procession of Braves signatures below his that includes Wally Berger, Randy Moore, Huck Betts, Les Mallon and Jack Rothrock. Other Braves signatures include Ed Brandt, Rabbit Maranville, Frank Hogan, Fred Frankhouse and Bill McKechnie. Yankees signatures on back include Tony Lazzeri, Joe McCarthy, Red Rolfe, Dixie Walker, Russ VanAtta, Earle Combs and Art Jorgens. Joe Medwick has also signed. Signatures on reverse average 8-9 out of 10. Photo has multiple creases, yet retains excellent clarity and image quality. Framed (double sided).
