Description: Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autographed baseball - dated to 1928 Bustin Babes and Larrupin Lous exhibition game. Red and blue stitched Reach Official American League baseball has been signed "Babe Ruth" across the sweetspot rating 6 out of 10. "Lou Gehrig" appearing on the panel below is a touch better at 6/7 out of 10. In addition there are several notations (written in unknown hand) including "In Reading, Saturday October 20, 1928" along with "2 home runs" (beside Ruth) and "1 home run" (next to Gehrig). A period newspaper account confirms that the pair were in Reading, PA on that and quotes Gehrig, "I couldn't tell you a thing about the game...all we could do was sign baseball after baseball..." Ball itself has toned and shows some light general surface wear. A spot of discoloration minimally effects the Gehrig signature.
