Description:Babe Ruth single signed baseball with outstanding provenance c.1948 Anchor brand "Special League" baseball has been signed "Babe Ruth" across the sweetspot in fountain pen rating approx. 6-6/7 out of 10. Moderate soiling/toning throughout and a light clear coat was applied long ago to aid in preservation. The ball was autographed by Ruth during a visit with infirmed children in Florida to help promote an Easter Seal Campaign. His stop at the facility was well documented and included with the ball is a period photograph (framed to 13"x15") in which he is shown signing autographs. An additional image (8"x10", modern print) shows Ruth with the young boy the ball is believed to have been signed for. A copy of the original paper caption on back notes the date was February 28, 1948. This photo likewise appears on page (15) of an included copy of "Sir!" magazine (first few pages missing) which is captioned, "Though sick and suffering extreme pain, the Babe found time to visit...a few months before he died." A very nice example for display complete with documented history. Includes full LOA from JSA: VG
