Description: Monumental lot of (1,941) Ted Williams autographs - the complete limited edition commemorating his landmark 1941 season (PSA/DNA). Total of (1,941) autographs done by Ted Williams on slips of 2"x5" heavy stock paper which each have a pre-printed area below reading "Limited Edition #" and spaces to fill in the numbering by hand. They were intended for use in a series of framed displays commemorating his performance during the 1941 season which ranks among the best offensive exhibitions of All-Time. Each signature has been authenticated, graded, and encapsulated by PSA/DNA with "Williams Family Collection" provenance noted on the label. A total of (15) are graded PSA/DNA Gem Mint 10, approx. (325) are graded PSA Mint 9, and the balance are graded NM-MT 8. With the exception of (10) pieces, each is hand numbered and most (if not all) have a September 1991 date written on which is presumably when they were signed (both the date and numbering are done in unknown hand). It seldom happens that a complete limited edition of signed pieces from so notable a figure as Ted Williams, let alone one encompassing the quantity included here, comes to the open market. The offered may represent a singular opportunity for an enterprising organization to create their own limited edition displays, market these pieces individually over time, or even utilize these pieces in the popular insert/chase cards which have fueled the trading card market over the past two decades. These were the only fully intact limited edition autographed series of items (of any type) remaining within the Williams collection.
