Description: Maje McDonnell 1950 Philadelphia Phillies National League Championship Commemorative ring. Original ring as presented to members of the 1950 NL Champion "Whiz Kids" by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1975 during commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the pennant winning season. Handsome ring displays a gold baseball inset within red field on top. One side panel features "McDonnell" name above image of Shibe Park and "1950" date. Opposite side panel has "Coach" title at top with Veterans Stadium image above "1975" date. Ring is marked Balfour 10K on interior ring band with general light to moderate wear throughout the ring surface. Size 8 1/4. McDonnell served as a valued coach with the 1950 Whiz Kids with the offered ring noted as a treasured commemoration of same.
