Description:Historic Bruce Sutter autographed 1982 World Series Game #7 Final Out Baseball (World Championship Clinching Out). After narrowly missing a World Series title in their 100th MLB the season the St. Louis Cardinals returned to the Fall Classic in 1982 to face the Milwaukee Brewers. The series was a classic going to the full slate of seven games with the Cardinal prevailing to capture their first world championship since 1967. In the seventh and deciding game, fittingly the Cards called upon the elite closer Bruce Sutter who delivered an iconic two inning save to nail down the series. The final out was recorded with Sutter coaxing Brewers slugger Gorman Thomas into a strikeout with a pitch caught by catcher Darrel Porter. After the game Porter presented the ball to Sutter who later gave it to friend and longtime member of the Cardinals grounds crew. That same year, the ball was sold by the gentleman to a collector in 1982 who retained in until its offering in a hobby auction in 2011. The toned B.Kuhn 1982 World Series baseball shows evident use including rubbing for game prep and general surface wear. Sutter has autographed the side panel adding "Game-& World Series" importantly signed in the period and consistent with Sutter's hand at the time. One of the more notable game used artifacts with relation to the proud St. Louis Cardinals franchise to have been offered to the collecting public. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph), 2011 auction tear sheet corroborating the relayed provenance from Sutter to grounds crew member to collector, and includes certificate of provenance from Geddy Lee: Ball: EX, Signature: NM
