Description: September 25, 1968 Johnny Bench record setting games caught by a Rookie baseball. Spalding W.Giles Official National League baseball displaying use/wear has period marker notations reading "John Bench, Sept 25th 1968 Reds vs. Pirates, John Set A Major League Record By Catching In 151 Games During His Rookie Season." In the game played at Forbes Field Bench broke the record, previously held by Bob Rodgers of the Angels, and he would go on to set the mark at (154) games. An impressive feat and one which very few players have approached with Bench still holding the record to this day. Includes letter of provenance from Johnny Bench: EX
