Description: Rare style c.1940s Philadelphia Phillies equipment bag from the Bobby Wine Collection (EX) Large canvas travel bag has "Phillies" team name block lettered on each end along with the number "19." Although later issued to Bobby Wine, the style and use of leather straps on top (only portions of these remain) suggest that it was originally in the 1940s time period. Several players made use of the number "19" throughout the 1940s including Schoolboy Rowe from 1946-49. Exceptional display value with expected general age and usage wear along with some loss to leather straps. One end has a rectangular area of toning and small spot of residue (could possibly be removed). The first of this type we have offered.
