Description: 1953 Branch Rickey autographed letter with Pittsburgh-related content and JSA LOA (Sig. MT). December 26, 1953 typed letter on Pirates stationary has been signed "Branch Rickey" in black ink with the signature rating 9 out of 10. Content relates to a loan needed to open the club's 1954 season, and reads in part, "The fact that we can get $200,000 and six players for a contract of one of our players, who in my opinion is not really a great player, should be some sort of satisfying evidence that player contracts really have value."
