Description: 1909-11 T206 Partial set (366 different) - (54) Hall of Famers with (10) graded incl. Cobb, Mathewson, and Johnson (Avg. GD with a number better) Desirable and sizable group of (366) different cards from one of baseball card collectings' most storied sets. The lot appears to have originated largely from (1) main source and augmented with additions over time. A good number of the cards have back toning and/or discoloration which suggests that they were at one time mounted within an album. As illustrated by a selection of cards sent to SGC, this places cards which otherwise have only minor flaws in the GD range (in some cases where there was a very minor effect, VG) and the overall condition of the group averages GD with portions lesser. It should be noted that there are a number of very sharp cards which fall in higher grade level (these will be noted below). There are approx. (50) non Hall of Famers which are in better overall condition than the bulk of the group incl. Jones, Titus, Street, Doolin, Doolan, Knabe, Delehanty, Turner, Pfeister, Bradley, Berger, Mattern, Doyle, Bradley, Murray, Merkle, Snodgrass, Rucker, and Sthal. The bulk have typical Piedmont and Sweet Caporal backs however there are (17) Polar Bear backs, (3) Old Mill, and (1) Cycle. In addition, there are some "oddities" including Gilbert, St. Louis which is miscut with partial name of additional card visible at top, Krause, Philadelphia with misaligned back which has partial "Factory" ID line at both top and bottom, and (5) cards which have a vintage stamp on back (Miller, Pittsburgh with "Nov 8 1910" date stamp; Mitchell, Pastorius, and Nichols with "Myles Reading" collector stamp; and Cree with "AG" stamped on): Avg.
