Description: Rare 1903 Boston Red Sox World Series photograph (EX with note to description) Stunning original albumen mounted image depicting the Boston Red Socks team posed at Pittsburgh during the inaugural 1903 World Series. Boston players are positioned seated in front row wearing full uniforms including Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young. The famed -Royal Rooters+ of Boston led by -Nuf Ced+ McGreevey are visible seated and standing behind the players. Image size measures 10+x14+ remaining affixed to its original cabinet mount. Photo quality rates as very fine with excellent contrast and crisp original clarity. Two small surface wrinkles at left side as well as some minor surface imperfections list as the only notable condition points of the image. Original mount has been trimmed almost to the edge of the photo but displays beautifully as matted and framed (as seen in the catalogue). Reverse of mount has some period notations as to Boston team pictured in Pittsburgh Oct. 1903. Some abrasions to top area of the back of mount which appear to be from previous matt/frame.
