Description: Set of Babe Ruth color photographic prints by George "Specs" Torporcer. Color prints after two original photographs taken by former St. Louis Cardinals player and Red Sox executive George "Specs" Torporcer. Torporcer was originally given an experimental Kodak camera in the 1946 to be tested and sent back to Kodak for evaluation. Among the many prints taken were included two very rare images of Babe Ruth in full color one of which was taken before an Old Timers game played in Boston. One image pictures a close up view of an aged Ruth in a suit smiling. The other image pictures a smiling Babe Ruth shaking hands with Ted Williams and is signed, "To Specs Torporcer a great man in baseball and my friend always Ted Williams". Both images were printed around 1979 and measure 8"x10" matted and framed. Includes a separate framed display with later copies of both images matted with a vintage image of Specs Torporcer as well as a fine quality handled mahogany case. Color images of Ruth are of extreme rarity: NM
