Description: Philadelphia Athletics $100,000 Infield original photograph by Charles Conlon c.1909. Scarce original 8"x10" sepia tone image picturing Connie Mack's vaunted $100,000 infield of Stuffy McInnis, Danny Murphy, Frank Baker, Jack Barry, and Eddie Collins. The players were so named in response to a comment made by manager Connie Mack that he "would not part with them for even $100,000." The image actually pictures both Murphy and Collins even though Collins replaced Murphy at second base bumping him to the right field position. The photo retains excellent clarity typically found in Conlon's work with an area of paper loss to the backing of the surface emulsion on the far right edge (not apparent from the front).
