Description: Woven silk Japanese Uchikake kimono. Taisho Era (1912-26) kimono in a formal design of chrysanthemums and other flowers arranged on open fans. Toru Shoriki, Chairman of the Board of Yomiuri Shimbun, presented the Kimono to Commissioner Kuhn in 1984. Accompanying papers in the original box identify the store (Takashimaya Company) and name of the workshop where it was made. The Kimono is professionally mounted in a plexiglass frame and comes with its original display stand.
