Description: 1886 Detroit Wolverines large format cabinet photograph. Stunning piece of Victorian imagery picturing the Detroit team posed in a studio setting wearing full uniforms. Players are identified at the bottom margin of the mount incl. Brouthers, Bennett, Hanlon, White, Baldwin, and Thompson. Stamped by Tomlinson photography studio in Detroit. Image size is 13"x16" with stunning original clarity and contrast having just a small 1" tear at the top margin. Mount measures 16"x20" with a 3" chip at the top margin and some chipping to the edge area under the player names at the bottom. Matted and framed such that the mount chipping is not visible. Impressive piece of rare 19th century large format photography originating from the personal collection of Deacon White. Includes letter of provenance from the White family: EX-MT (With note to mount chipping)
